Each winter, Grace Primitive Baptist Church hosts the 27:17 Conference, a three‑day gathering designed to help young people (and their families) grow in grace, knowledge, and joyful fellowship. The name comes from Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Our aim is exactly that: to place believers side by side so scripture, worship, and service can hone every heart for the Master’s use (2 Timothy 2:21).
What to Expect
Bible‑Rich Teaching – Each year centers on a book or theme of Scripture. (For example, the conference in January 2025 walked through 1 Corinthians: Building Up the Church, echoing Paul’s charge to “excel to the edifying of the church” – 1 Corinthians 14:12.)
Family‑Integrated Worship – While the core audience is ages 10‑21, sessions are crafted to benefit all ages and are open to all, honoring the pattern of whole‑church discipleship in Deuteronomy 31:12 and Nehemiah 8:2-3.
Christ‑Centered Fellowship – Between lessons, you’ll find volleyball, basketball, team‑building games, hymn singing around a bonfire, and plenty of good food, living out Hebrews 10:24-25 by “exhorting one another” in love.
Safe, Supervised Lodging – Boys bunk in the church under watchful dads; girls stay in nearby host homes.
No Registration Fee – We want every willing heart to attend; optional conference T‑shirts are available at cost.
Why We Gather
The early church “continued daily with one accord” (Acts 2:46). Paul urged Timothy to commit truth “to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). By setting aside focused time for worship, fellowship, and doctrinal study, we seek to obey those biblical patterns and equip saints of every age for “speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:11-15).
